Juan Merriman – Founder & Director Juan is the founder of Merriman Childcare and Learning Center and a proud mother of an 11-year-old son. Juan graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China and later received a Ph.D. from Peking University in Economics. After moving to USA in 2010, inspired by Dr. Jenn Berman’s SuperBaby and her own parenting journey, she brings a deep passion for teaching American Sign Language (ASL), fostering a love of reading, and helping children build healthy habits in life, learning, and nutrition. Since 2023, Juan has been studying Early Childhood Education and earned her Washington ECE Initial and Short Certificates in June 2025. In 2023, Juan co-founded a family daycare. In 2025, Juan joined Bright Horizons Bellevue campus as a toddler classroom teacher, which gave her the opportunity to share her parenting and teaching experience with more families. She is skilled at guiding each child to discover a learning approach that fits their unique style, and she integrates the cultivation of positive life, study, and eating habits into children’s daily routines. Juan believes in building strong, positive teacher-child relationships, with a clear purpose: to help every child thrive — physically, mentally, socially, and in language.
Juan 是 MCLC的创办人，也是一个 11岁男孩的母亲。本科为中国科学技术大学9系，后来又获得北京大学经济学博士学位。2010年定居美国之后，她受到 Dr. Jenn Berman 的 SuperBaby 一书以及自身育儿经历的启发，对教授美国手语 (ASL)、培养孩子的阅读兴趣，以及帮助孩子养成健康的生活、学习和饮食习惯充满热情。Juan的孩子精通英文，2023 年，Juan共同创办了一家家庭托儿所。2025年，Juan正式担任Bright Horizons Bellevue Campus Toddler classroom全职老师，这让她有机会与更多的家庭分享育儿和教学经验。 同时，Juan 一直在学习幼儿教育，并于 2025 年 6 月获得华盛顿州 ECE 初阶证书和短期证书。她善于引导每个孩子找到适合自己的学习方式，并把良好的生活、学习和饮食习惯融入孩子们的日常。Juan 坚信积极的师生关系能让孩子感到被爱和被尊重，她的教育宗旨就是：帮助每一个孩子在身体、心理、社交和语言方面全面茁壮成长。

Weina Ma – Head Teacher Weina has worked in a family daycare for over two years. She is a proud mother of an 11-year-old boy. Her son not only excels in academics but also in sports, and his bright and positive personality reflects Weina’s thoughtful guidance and nurturing. Weina believes early childhood education is crucial, and that the environment provided plays a key role in a child’s development. With her careful attention and genuine care, she helps children grow up healthy and confident in a safe and loving environment.
Weina在一家家庭托儿所工作已有两年多，同时也是一位 11 岁男孩的母亲。她的孩子不仅学习成绩优异，体育方面同样出色，为人阳光随和，这都与 Weina 的悉心教育密不可分。Weina 坚信幼儿教育至关重要，所提供的环境对孩子的发展起着关键作用。她用细心的照顾和充分的关怀，为孩子们营造一个安全、有爱的环境，从而帮助他们健康、自信地成长。

Loren Merriman – Teacher Loren Merriman, has a deep passion for communicating with children and respecting their ideas — even the simplest or most imaginative ones. He is patient, observant, and encourages every child by recognizing their unique strengths and offering support and guidance. Having enjoyed a joyful, safe, and healthy childhood himself, Loren wishes to provide the same nurturing environment for the children in his care: one filled with unconditional love, playful learning, and the happiness of growing up worry-free. Loren believes in opening more windows for children — giving them opportunities to explore, learn, enjoy, and grow in a world full of possibilities.
Loren非常喜欢与孩子们交流，尊重他们的每一个想法和主意，即使是看似幼稚的点子，他也会耐心地与孩子们长时间讨论。他细心、耐心，善于发现孩子的优点，并给予鼓励、支持和帮助。Loren 自己有过一个快乐、无忧、安全、健康的童年，他希望为孩子们营造同样的环境，用无条件的爱陪伴他们，让孩子们无忧成长、快乐生活，在游戏中学习，在生活中享受每一个进步和惊喜。Loren 坚信要为孩子们打开更多的窗口，让他们能够去探索、去学习、去享受、去成长，发现更广阔的天地。
